Qifu began as a small village workshop in Mianzhu, built by our forebears with their own hands. Generations later it is still a family business — and still guided by the same belief: good baijiu comes from honest grain, patient craft, and respect for those who came before.
Since 1978 the distillery has been in our family’s hands.
The family today
Three decades at the helm
Mingchang Ji has led Qifu for more than 30 years. Under his leadership the family distillery grew from a local supplier into an exporter reaching Europe, Africa and Asia — without giving up the old methods.
He also serves as Vice-President of the Mianzhu Liquor Industry Association and is active in the China Baijiu Golden Triangle Association, working to protect and pass on the region’s baijiu culture.

A poem for Qifu
An ode to the distillery
In 2019 the writer Ning Zhiqi composed an ode to our distillery. A few lines:
- An old distillery in a blessed land; its spirit traces back to Han and Tang.
- Our forebears built it grain by grain; each generation carries it further.
- Red grain sealed in yellow-mud pits, fermenting for two full months.
- At farmhouse tables and grand banquets alike, Qifu has its place.
- With the Longmen Mountains and Mian River as witness, Qifu begins a new chapter.
